On Wednesday 10th July at 2pm a meeting was held at the Dyffryn School Development Site.
I had the chance to look around the site prior to the meeting and chat to a few of the workers there about the work so far etc.
The demolition work is continuing….

I raised a few questions that local residents had concerns about.
Dust
Blue Rock are aware that there will be dust in the air. This is inevitable given the nature of the work. They showed me the equipment they are using to keep this to a minimum. This includes attachments on the excavators whereby water is pumped through lines to the equipment attached to the booms and is sprayed directly onto the material being worked on.
To keep site dust to a minimum a water canon is used which can be directed towards areas where a lot of dust is created:

Debris around trees
Following concerns raised by residents that rocks and other debris from demolition work is falling around the base of trees, Blue Rock have moved the debris pile clear of the trees and erected heras fencing to protect the trees:
